The E-Commerce & Marketing Manager is accountable for the ECommerce channel for Shop n Drive ensuring the right range, promotions and pricing are in place. Whilst also developing the relationship with delivery partners.

The E-Commerce & Marketing Manager is also responsible for the marketing and POS in Shop N Drive stores as well as to Morrisons for third party categories. The E-Commerce & Marketing Manager owns the brand guidelines, POS and store communication of the promotional offer. All spend is monitored and approved and all income tracked to ensure receipt by Rontec.

The role has two direct reports: the ECommerce Category Analyst and the Marketing Coordinator. The ECommerce Category Analyst is responsible for maintaining the ECommerce operation, driving all related KPIs and supporting the Shops team with data analysis across the full portfolio of SND categories. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for delivering all marketing projects, assets and supporting communication within budget and on time.

This role is based in our Head Office in Watford – 5 days a week and is not a Hybrid Role.

KEY ACTIVITIES

E-COMMERCE & MARKETING MANAGER

  • Devise and maintain appropriate price, range and promotional data files to ensure database accuracy and thorough analysis of performance.
  • Be the owner and custodian of the brand guidelines.
  • Devise and lead projects, trials and reports to help with the development of the ECommerce, promotional and pricing strategy for the overall business.
  • Building effective relationships and communication with the category managers, retail & food service teams to ensure that periodic processes and ad hoc projects land on time.
  • Monthly tracking of rebates, trading terms and supplier income.
  • Working with the Category Managers to present updates to the Category Managers, the Retail Director and Operations team (Area, Regional Managers etc) on retail initiatives to develop or future proof the business.
  • Fully manage and lead the publication of the Shop N Talk company magazine.
  • Owns the relationship with the E-Commerce delivery partners.
  • Assessing team performance and providing feedback
  • Communicating goals and deadlines to direct reports

ECOMMERCE CATEGORY ANAYLST MANAGER

  • Management and development of the ECommerce offering; including Menu platforms, KPIs and forward-thinking strategy.
  • Delivery of the online trade plan.
  • Manage and develop direct relationships with the various app brand partners/aggregators. To challenge and renegotiate commercial terms to enhance KPIs for the overall business.
  • To ensure competitive pricing and promotional updates are live across all Menus/apps.
  • Devise and deliver a portfolio of analytical reports to support the wider Retail team, the Head of Category, Retail Director or any projects currently taking place. Including a regularly updated competitor report.

MARKETING COORDINATOR

  • Accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the promotional and marketing calendar, process and deadlines on time.
  • Ensuring all POS assets are kept engaging, relevant and within the company brand standards at all times.
  • Management of the upkeep and accuracy of the POS asset list for the business.
  • All marketing and POS spend is justified and within budget. Suppliers utilised must be challenged to offer the lowest prices, benchmarked against the market with delivery charges kept to a minimum.
  • Upkeep of the POS spend vs rate card tracker and all marketing related invoicing.
  • Manage and develop direct relationship with the current print partner, ensuring upkeep of operational facing ordering portal.
  • Delivery of printing portal periodic reports and managing specific AM spend budgets.
  • Delivering clear and effective store communication packs on time.
  • Management of the Newspaper direct to site supply, including weekly sales and margin reporting and change of operator process.
  • Management of the Lottery direct to site supply, including monthly scratch card updates and change of operator process.
  • Management of the Track & Trace process.
  • Own the Rontec full trade plan, in line with the wholesale promotional dates, all key activities are delivered.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To ensure that a fully functioning ECommerce platform is in place at all times.
  • To drive category specific and supplier KPIs through increased product volume.
  • To devise and maintain the promotional and marketing strategy and provide regular promotional and category performance analysis and insight.
  • To protect the company brand standards and long-standing partnerships through delivery of the agreed supplier contracts.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality, working internally and externally.
  • To ensure an effective service is provided in a demanding environment ensuring that the integrity of the company’s policies and procedures, and legislation is upheld at all times by guiding the team towards achieving company goals and promoting a positive team environment.

To be successful in the role, you should have:

  • Previous ECommerce Management experience working within a food retail environment.
  • High level of numerical and data analytical skills a good practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, IF and Average formulas)
  • Ability to think strategically, show initiative and creativity.
  • Strong motivational and communication skills
  • Commercially aware and driven by targets and objectives.
  • Ideally educated to degree level
